Barbara Walters was released from a New York hospital yesterday. She was initially hospitalized in Washington, D.C. after falling at a pre-inauguration party on the 19th. ABC said Barbara is recovering at home, and “getting stronger,” – but doctors don’t know when she will be able to return to work.
Lindsay Lohan and her mom Dina took the last flight out of JFK last night to make sure she was in L.A. for her court appearance this morning. At first, Lindsay had no intention of showing up because she had a doctor’s note which was filed with the court, saying she couldn't fly because she had an upper respiratory infection. But then, TMZ posted pictures of Lindsay shopping and smoking in SoHo the very day she got the doctor's note. Lindsay saw the story on TMZ and went into a panic calling around to see if the judge would issue a warrant for her arrest if she didn't show. She then began pleading with Shawn Holley (the lawyer she fired) to come back on the case, saying she didn't like her replacement. Her current lawyer tried submitting the doctor's note, along with a New York Post article saying a lot of people in NYC had the flu – so Lindsay shouldn’t have to appear in court.
